I chopped the onion and the small pepper, and I hardened them with oil. I added salt, pepper, oregano, basil and paprika. I cleaned the potatoes, cut them into rounds and added them to the pot of vegetables. I put enough water to cover the potatoes. I left it to boil with the lid on for about 15 minutes, then I took the lid on and left it like that until the potatoes were cooked.

In a cup I mixed the cream with the flour, and then I added it to the potatoes. I let it boil a few more times.


Mashed potatoes with tofu cream

When you want to prepare a garnish that matches any main course, you must try baked potatoes with tofu cream.

INGREDIENT:

METHOD OF PREPARATION:

1. We choose the potatoes to have the most uniform shape and not to have imperfections. We wash them very well and wipe them with a paper towel. We prick them a few times with a toothpick and give them olive oil. Then we place them in a tray lined with baking paper and put them in the oven (preheated to 200 g) for about 40 minutes, or until we can lightly prick them with a fork.

2. Meanwhile, prepare the tofu cream: put the crushed tofu cube, the two chopped onions, green dill and lemon juice and salt to taste in the food processor. Because it will be very thick, we will add a little water and mix.

3. When the potatoes are ready, crush them carefully using either a mashed pot or the bottom of a glass. Season with salt, pepper, thyme and oregano and bake again for 10-15 minutes.

4. After this time, decorate them with tofu cream using a posh, or a bag cut at a corner and season them with green dill. At this point, the potatoes are baked enough, so we can serve them as such, or we can put them in the oven for another 10 minutes if we want them to have a tofu cream taste and a browned appearance.

James Martin's adventure begins in the Orkney Islands of Scotland, a place he has never been before and which he is happy to discover during filming and cooking. He also goes to Scotland to Lossiemouth with Nick Nairn, then to Blair Castle in The Highlands. He is joined by Michelin-starred chef with a predestined name, Tom Kitchin. And the Scottish journey ends in beautiful Edinburgh.

In England, Martin visits Yorkshire, Lancashire, then arrives in Wales with a visit to Snowdonia and Pembrokeshire, before heading to Northern Ireland. Ingredient:

  • 2 sweet potatoes, about 400 g & icircn total
  • oil, for frying
  • 1 teaspoon allspice, ground
  • 1 teaspoon salt
